fascinating

This is translated from the Russian, so it is not quite idiomatic. It is still very readable. The author is basically discussing Quantum Mechanics[QM] in a very simple way, which can be applied to daily life. I would recommend reading the whole series, in sequence, as the author recommends. I read these books like a detective novel, as fast as I could go. Yes, in some areas, I had to read them 2-3 times to understand them, but the book was still very interesting. The book is fascinating. The positive things the other reviewers say are all true. QM is not easy to understand. If you want to see other applications of QM, Matrix Energetics: The Science and Art of Transformation, House of Shattering Light: Life as an American Indian Mystic, Quantum Power Questions, and The Secret of Instant Healing are all useful. QM now is life changing, just as Newtonian Physics was in its day. It is a major paradigm shift, and once you climb the learning curve, it makes life fun! Journey to the Ancestral Self: The Native Lifeway Guide to Living in Harmony with the Earth Mother (Bk.1) is another book worth being aware of.

Reality Transurfing is a thorough analysis and detailed explanation of mechanics behind the concepts mentioned in the movie The Secret and in books such as Conversation with God, The Science of getting Rich, and the like. For years, I've been looking exactly for this book. I guess it is true that "Guru appears when disciple is ready".

A must for a serious seeker!

I've been reading self-help and spiritual literature for many years now, and yet, there is always something new to learn. I've listened to an audio version in Russian, it's very convenient as some books I had to listen 2-3 times until I really understood how it all works! If you're interested in Audio-book version in English, there is a group on Facebook called "Vadim Zeland's Reality Transurfing in plain English", they will be releasing Audio book in the Spring of 2010.

Favorite book ever, as reviewed by a bibliophile!

Yes, this book is extremely graphic, and might be too much so for some readers. However, and this is a big however, every American needs to read it! The atrocities that we perpetuated during Jim Crow is something that is not taught in most schools. Yes, it is touched upon, but this is a topic that needs to be heard from someone who grew up in the South during this most tragic time period and witnessed the murders, tortures and utter violence.

Moody gives us a glimpse into what it was like to be a young black female growing up in that place at that time. It inspired me to take a road trip across Mississippi tracing the locations that she mentions. It was a sad trip, but I felt it was a good way for me (a white woman from the east coast) to get a better understanding of what actually happened.

I have purchased at least ten copies over the years and given to many friends who seemed interested in the topic.

This is by far my favorite book I have ever read--which includes thousands!

This book had a few typos, I hate to see that in any read. That aside I really loved this book and didn't want it to end. Ms Moody, a great woman and a great activist. I want to thank her for writing the book and above all I want to thank her for fighting for my rights. I enjoyed the whole book, but, really liked the portion on Ms Moody's involvement with the struggle for civil rights. I mean I almost cried when she spoke of how black people she knew and some she didn't know died for my human rights. I respect all who suffered so that I may have the right to vote or walk the streets without fear of being hanged because of the color of my skin. I must say at this point that I appreciate my white bothers and sisters for helping in my right to be free. What got to me even more while reading this book is the fact that young children and teenagers had the courage to stand up and speak out at a time when speaking out against racism could and normally did mean death! I can't say enough about this book. As far as I'm concerned it should be required reading in all high schools, because this book is relevant even in todays society.

A Amazing Story That Is A Must Read!!!!!!

I haven't finished a book in a few days in a very long time. My aunt and I are always sharing great reads so when she told me to read it, I never thought about reading the synopsis to see what this story was about. I just knew that we would discuss it along the way. When I first began reading this book, I had no idea it would have lead down the path of the civil rights movement, because in the beginning I was just thought it was a hilarious book about someone's childhood. I loved the way this story was written because it reminded me of what it must have been like when my mother was growing up. Soon I realized that it was no longer a funny story, but an unbelievable, well written, detailed story of Anne's life. Yes I know of the struggles that have been documented, details of some of the well known key players in the struggle, and much more; but for the first time, I felt like there was a personal connection between her story and everyday people like my family. As I continued reading, I began to have more and more questions that I needed answers to. It was great to hear the voice of someone who was not known world wide because readers like myself could make personal connection with this story that one wouldn't necessarily make with some of the more popular well-known people.

You'll be very pleased with this book if you've chosen to work with Exim and require better information than the online documentation can provide. Philip Hazel has done a good job of combining a comprehensive set of details--including lots of command listings--with advice and practical examples that will make an administrator's life easier.

Typical of this approach is the treatment of methods for blocking traffic from bad hosts that attempt to mail to your Exim station. The book runs through alternative techniques--using a public blocking list, blocking hosts explicitly, and so on--in series. Each technique is described in terms of what happens and why, and includes listings of the relevant configuration commands. About the Author

Philip Hazel has a Ph.D. in applied mathematics, but has spent the last 30 years writing general-purpose software for the Computing Service at the University of Cambridge in England. Since moving from an IBM mainframe to Unix about ten years ago, he has gotten more and more involved with email. Philip started developing Exim in 1995 and is its sole author.

Very Hard Reading

I'm reluctant to criticize someone as talented as Philip Hazel who produces such a high quality product, distributes it for free and spends so much time supporting it.
However this book and the online documentation he provides is extremely difficult to use. He admits that he didn't want to write this book and hoped someone else would have. Indeed it would have been better if someone else had.
The book contains an exceptional amount of background information on mail protocols and procedures, and a lot of detail on Exim itself. If I had 5 weeks to read and absorb it all it would be wondersful.
For busy systems administrators using this book is a hard work, finding the information needed is slow and then understanding it is difficult. Dr Hazel's writing style is terse and rather like a mathematical text. There is no fluff in it's 600 pages. I find myself reading sentences repeatedly trying to understand them. Also the implications of certain information is not made obvious.
His lack of realistic examples is also a serious short coming. He glosses over remote access of mail via POP, IMAP and SMTP authentication even though this is the most common way of accessing mail these days. I would especially like to see discussion of an ISP type mail server with multiple domains, which is lacking.
Finally, there is lack of reference material in the appendices, a short form listing of command options and configuration options would be a great addition.
Warning: this book is for version 3 and version 4 is now available although version 3 is still used.

Good supplement to official documentation

This won't replace the official documentation -- especially since it covers an old outdated version of EXIM -- but covers enough to be worthwhile as a supplement. Still, I was rather disappointed that much of what I was trying to do (such as set up spam filtering) wasn't covered by the book, and that I had to go online and read through back mailing list archives and read official documentation to get the job done. From any other publisher I wouldn't feel too bad about that, but from O'Reilly I expect better.

Out of date, but still a good starting point

Exim is fairly straightforward for an MTA, though I found I needed to understand a bunch of concepts before I knew what Exim was doing. Exim: The Mail Transfer Agent does an excellent job of covering those concepts, much better than the official documentation, and for that this is essential reading for Exim users. This is the 1st edition, however, and only covers Exim release 3, so many of the important things that you might want to do with Exim that are easy to do in Exim 4 are not covered. You will need the official Exim website to complete your education and get up and running.
You might want to try using just the official documentation from the website and a good sample configuration file before buying this outdated book. (The Debian Linux installation of Exim comes with an excellent, well-commented default configuration.) If you get lost (like I did), buy this book used (like I didn't).
A new edition covering Exim 4 would easily get a 5 star review and earn a permanent spot on my bookshelf. Some quick reference appendicies and tables and an improved index, such as those common to most newer O'Reilly titles, would also be nice.

Being that I am neither a real estate Investor nor someone who has a working knowledge of such things, I expected this book to be boring and doused in confusing lingo but instead I was pleasantly surprised. Written in a friendly tone and worded so that it is easy to understand, this is a precisely written, thoroughly organized guide to all things real estate; it does not just inundate the reader with laws, tax rules, and loopholes it offers lucid explanations demonstrated by case examples that depict real life situations. Additionally, this is not just a book for those looking to attain wealth through real estate investing it also serves as an intensely informative resource for business owners, married couples, business partners, and particularly homeowners, especially chapters 25 (Protecting Your Home and Related Asset Protection Strategies), 29 (Duties Owed by Real Estate brokers and Agents), and 30 (Legal Due Diligence).

This is an excellent book for those looking to invest in real estate - the information contained in this book does well to clarify the do’s, don’ts and loopholes and I heartily recommend this book as a must read for anyone interested in real estate on any level. A must-read for real estate novices and experts alike

I am an attorney in private practice and have many clients who fancy themselves real estate professionals. Very few of them, whether they own many properties or only a few, truly know and understand how to maximize the tax and legal advantages of real estate. I intend to recommend this book to all of my clients (and colleagues) who either already engage in, or express a desire in, real estate investing.

Garrett Sutton's book, "Loopholes of Real Estate", is the best and most comprehensive book that I know of to frame a person's perspective of real estate investment through the lenses of tax minimization, asset protection, and cash flow maximization. Mr. Sutton, formerly a real estate broker himself and currently a real estate investor and attorney, brings real life experience, the law, and the professional knowledge of some of Robert Kiyosaki's greatest Rich Dad Advisors to bear in this outstanding work. This book is a survey of real estate law and investing concepts that is an absolute steal as a mass market product. The information in this book is sold for hundreds if not thousands of dollars in other media such as seminars, academic courses, and professional books.

Sutton covers a myriad of topics, with an overall emphasis on tax minimization and keeping your investments out of the reach of ambulance-chasing attorneys. Among the topics covered in this book are:

(a) the basics of asset depreciation including using cost segregation to maximize passive loss;
(b) overview of 1031 exchanges and the basics of how to use and implement them;
(c) concepts of property management;
(d) how to hold real estate, including a devastating indictment of land trusts and the scam artists who promote them as a form of asset protection;
(e) how to structure your real estate holdings, including how to use corporations, limited liability companies, and limited partnerships, including the different tax classifications of same (e.g., "S corp" versus "disregarded entity");
(f) how to layer your protective countermeasures using insurance, debt encumbrances, your state's homestead exemption, and equity stripping;
(g) the different ways to hold title to real estate (e.g., the differences between tenancy in common and joint tenancy);
(h) The different types of conveyances (e.g., grant 'warranty' deeds versus quit claim deeds) and their legal implications;
(i) the "double negative" problem of investing in real estate using a Traditional (or Simple/SEP) IRA; and how to use a self-directed Roth IRA to invest in real estate if you choose to do so; and

Sutton's true brilliance is in how he crystallizes difficult, complex subjects into bite-size morsels that are easily consumed and digested by non-lawyers and non-real estate professionals. The Audible version of this book is narrated by Sutton himself, in a folksy, conversational tone which you can hardly tell is a narration at all. Listening to the audiobook often made me feel as if I was sitting in a chair in Sutton's law office having a personal conversation with him about how to achieve my real estate investment objectives. It is an absolutely brilliant production.

There are many other topics covered in this book which you will find helpful and enlightening. Throughout the book, Sutton uses the case study method (used in law schools and business schools) to bring to life the reasons why proper asset protection planning and tax strategies can both maximize your income, minimize your tax liabilities, and protect your investments.

In closing, I can't recommend this book more highly for anybody in any way connected with real estate. This should be the first thing you read about real estate investing, and Sutton provides numerous references for more in-depth discussions of certain topics. I recommend purchasing the Audible version and listening to it in the car, doing the dishes, and performing other chores, and then either owning the physical book or Kindle edition as a desktop reference. Rich Dad has once again hit a home run, and has successfully demystified and deconstructed a complex and daunting profession. With "Loopholes of Real Estate", the advantages of real estate investing are now open and accessible to ordinary Americans from every walk of life.

Another book to use for long-term wealth strategy

The Rich Dad series has once again published another "must have" book. If you are a student of the Rich Dad books, this book along with "Tax Free Wealth" (see my review) are the two most important books you will ever read to garner the knowledge needed to structure a long-term wealth-building strategy. The basic Rich Dad books lay the foundation of wealth building. However, this book and "Tax Free Wealth" actually demonstrate how to do it, and why it makes sense to follow such plans. These two books answer all the questions you may have had and tie up all the loose ends. Buy these two books, read them and keep them forever for reference.

A local real estate club host interviews the author, Garret Sutton, on a radio show. This book is mentioned in the interview. I am hooked by the title of "Loopholes" of Real Estate, as I am active in learning tricks for tax saving. So, I go ahead and get a kindle version. After reading the whole book, I realize this book does not offer me any new tricks in saving tax from my real estate portfolio....don't get me wrong, this book does cover quite some tax saving techniques, but I know them already. However, to my surprise, this book has quite some asset protection related subjects. And I do learn quite a bit on this subject from this book....things like:

1) What is a land trust? This book helps me to fully understand the purpose, the usage, the pro and con of a land trust.
2) Why a California LLC is a weak LLC. Why Nevada LLC, or Wyomin LLC are strong LLCs.
3) What are the homestead exemption differences in different states. And how the homestead exemption can protect asset.
4) The difference between Grand deed and quit claim deed.
5) Use mortgage to discourage lawsuit.
6) Use line-of-credit on property to discourage lawsuit.

I especially like Garret Sutton's approach in this book by using layman terms to cover subjects that could be hard to understand. Even better yet, quite some examples (or cases) are used to ensure readers fully understand each subject well.

I have 10+ rental properties all under my own name. I have been using both personal umbrella and commercial umbrella policies as the shield for asset protection. This book really helps me to have a clear picture how to proceed from here to implement a better asset protection scheme.

This book costs me less than 10 dollars. But what I got from it is far more than the book's cost. I highly recommend this book for real estate investors...whether they are looking for tax saving tips or for asset protection recommendations.

APOLLO A Conceptual Poem

Marcel Duchamp is arguably one of the 20th century’s most important and influential artists. This richly illustrated publication traces the central strategies and themes of Duchamp’s work. Movement, displacement, doubling, isolation, pun and metamorphosis are the tactics used by Duchamp to estrange the ordinary.

More than just a collection of poems, this book is a readymade, taking the form of a souvenir ballet program detailing a one-night-only performance of Apollo by Igor Stravinsky to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 1913 Armory Show in New York, in which Nude Descending a Staircase, No. 2 caused a sensation during its exhibition. At its heart, this book is about Marcel Duchamp but it is also about chess. It was thought for a long while that Marcel Duchamp gave up art to play professional chess. However, this was found to be not true with the revelation of his last major artwork, Étant donnés.

Using the form of a ballet, this work calls attention to the acts of performance, movement and choreography as well as the rhythms and balance of dance. These ideas are also found in chess. The conversation between dance and chess runs through this work. Each character is represented by a chess piece and their movements are conveyed and correlated as dance, thus the reason this book takes the form of a ballet. Marcel Duchamp, his female alter ego Rrose Sélavy, Dorothea Tanning, Leornona Carrington and Gertrude Abercrombie perform the ballet. Max Ernst leads the orchestra and Dizzy Gillespie performs a special solo.

The ten sequences in Apollo are performed in poem sections unfolding with specific functions towards the production and appreciation of the creative act. Duchamp famously said, “The creative act is not performed by the artist alone; the spectator brings the work in contact with the external world by deciphering and interpreting its inner qualifications and thus adds his contribution to the creative act.” This book establishes a more active role for the reader, who is asked to participate actively in creating meaning from the text. The work becomes collaboration between the audience, the poet, and the tradition that they've all inherited. The diversity of these works echoes the complexities of the subject, but together they posit something specific, the heightened relationship between the interior self and the exterior world.

Synopsis: Opening with an introduction narrated by Duchamp’s female alter ego, Rrose Sélavy sets the stage for the evenings performance and tells the story of Tiresias.

The first tableau details the birth of Apollo and how Apollo created the game of chess for Caissa in an Ovidian style of mythic writing. This is followed in turn by the myth of how Duchamp gave up painting for other forms of more engaging art.

Playing Chess with Marcel Ducham (sic) is a dada chess poem. By assigning words to a chessboard and pieces, the play of the poem develops though a played game.

Dorothea Tanning’s painting, Birthday, is contemplated in The Twelve Hour Transformation of Clare, a story of a woman who disappears into words.

Leonora Carrington’s work is thought through in Recipe for Water, a poem of time and contemplation of relationships within a mystical space.

The Ivory Tower by Gertrude Abercrombie is enacted in a retelling of the Lady of Shallot.

Retinal Movement: A Choreography is a photo ballet of our game of chess. This is the same game used for all of the ballet’s variations, Marcel Duchamp’s game against, Frank Marshall in the 1930 Chess Olympiad. Marshall was the U.S. Chess Champion and one of the world's strongest chess players at the time.

Duchamp Draws Rrose Sélavy is a three-act play that sets up an imaginary scene between Marcel Duchamp and his female alter ego Rrose Sélavy. They play a game of chess in the final moments before Duchamp completes his last major piece, Étant donnés.

Ballet + chess + poetry = brilliance

This book by Geoffrey Gatza is a mind-blowing tour-de-force of brilliance. It is truly unique and something that has never been done before. A ballet that breaks into a game of chess and poetry. It even has an intermission. If you like getting your mind blown (and who doesn't?) then buy and read this book.

Excellent book!

All the books from this Author are excellent, and this one if no exception. There are many book in this genre which are "recipe" books, and few writers are capable to explaining the insights of the use and dynamics of psychic energy. Think of this book as your introductory college chemistry book, any true scholar of the occult arts will understand its value.
