You’ll never see leadership the same way again after reading this book. These fifteen commitments are a distillation of decades of work with CEOs and other leaders. They are radical or provocative for many. They have been game changers for us and for our clients. We trust that they will be for you too. Our experience is that unconscious leadership is not sustainable. It won’t work for you, your team or your organization in the long term. Unconscious leadership can deliver short term results, but the costs of living and leading unconsciously are great. Fear drives most leaders to make choices that are at odds with healthy relationships, vitality and balance. This fear leaves a toxic residue that won’t be as easily tolerated in an increasingly complex business environment. Conscious leadership offers the antidote to fear. These pages contain a comprehensive road map to guide you to shift from fear-based to trust-based leadership. Once you learn and start practicing conscious leadership you’ll get results in the form of more energy, clarity, focus and healthier relationships. You’ll do more and more of what you are passionate about, and less of what you do out of obligation. You’ll have more fun, be happier, experience less drama and be more on purpose. Your team will get results as well. They’ll be more collaborative, creative, energized and engaged. They’ll solve issues faster, and once resolved the issues won’t resurface. Drama and gossip will all but disappear, and the energy and resources that fueled them will be redirected towards innovation and creativity. Any one of these commitments will change your life. All of them together are revolutionary. Leaders who practice the 15 commitments: · End blame and criticism · Speak candidly, openly and honestly, in a way that invites others to do the same · Find their unique genius · Let go of taking everything—especially themselves and their problems—so seriously · Create win for all solutions · Experience a new relationship to time and money where there is always enough What do you need to bring to the table? Be curious. Sounds so simple, and yet in our experience it’s a skill few have mastered. Most of us are far more interested in being right and proving it, than we are in learning, growing and shifting out of our old patterns. By default we gravitate towards the familiar. We’re asking you to take a chance and explore the unfamiliar. You’ll get scared and reactive. We all do. So what? Just stay curious and let us introduce you to a whole new world of leadership.

The Game-Changer For Your Organization
By Kathlyn T. Hendricks
Jim Dethmer, Diana Chapman and Kaley Klemp have created THE map for the future of business with The 15 Commitments of Conscious Leadership. The journey is clearly laid out with the steps as well as the strategies, the "how" as well as the "why." They incorporate the best leadership practices they have personally experienced and applied with companies of different sizes and strengths to leverage the genius of all the participants and give each player maximum opportunity to play the big game, a game based on co-creativity and conscious commitment. Commitment here is a clear and precise practice, not a homily, that leads to empowerment and presence. Consciousness here leads to bottom-line results, and unconscious behaviors and strategies are presented with contrasting alternatives that are radical in that they go to the root of the issue and dissolve it in favor of much better ideas. The authors are business-smart, people- and street-savvy, and way more funny than any business book has a right to be, until now.

Landing "Conscious Leadership" in 15 Clear Commitments for Companies
By S. Heilbronner
I am at the heart of the increasingly voluble discussion on "conscious leadership" and "culture" in dynamic companies. I have run companies, and I routinely advise early and mid-stage companies on practices to increase effectiveness and develop more transparent communication structures.
I found this book to be invaluable in terms of laying out a clear and directive structure regarding core principles companies can deploy to create a more aware and effective workplace. Although it seems obvious -- and although words like "authenticity" are bandied about quite a bit in management discussions -- this book offers direct guidance on what it means to create an organization where candor and authenticity are the very lifeblood of the company. Where gossip is not present. Where being "right" is less valuable than being curious.
This book is more than just theoretical, although it's immensely thoughtful. It is real and it is executable. As our workforce changes and as millennials increasingly are demanding roles in companies that put "growth" of people as a guiding principle, using this book and these commitments as guideposts will be invaluable.

Learning the skills in The 15 Commitments to Conscious Leadership has been one of the most important experiences of my life.
By Justin Rosenstein
Learning the skills in The 15 Commitments to Conscious Leadership has been one of the most important experiences of my life. It dramatically changed me as both a person and a leader. At Asana, we believe that Conscious Leadership training is so important we give every single employee the opportunity to go through a 2-day Conscious Leadership training, and many report profound changes to how they work. Because of Conscious Leadership, our communication is clearer and more authentic, and Asana as a company is, I believe, more effective in succeeding in its mission. I can nearly guarantee that reading this book will make you a more effective leader.
